  1. Hi,

I have set up a blog on the Lebanese elections. I hope that you find it of interest and reciprocate the link.

    Kind regards,

  2. Hi, I have a question which I am wondering if anyone in general, or any of the blacksmitsoflebanon moderator can answer:

Why did the voting duration change to only 1 day?
To WHOSE advantage is this really? And please be objective because I am doing a very small piece on Lebanese elections and I am an undergraduate student at the university of toronto.

I think the last time there was a lot of manipulation by all politicians, waiting to see what happened in one district to influence results in another. By having it in one day you eliminate that, no-one has an advantage by leveraging one district against the other, but security might become harder since the army has to deploy everywhere simultaneously and can't concentrate on a specific region.

So security-wise it might be the ones causing all the trouble, that means Syria's friends, who benefit if their masters allow, other than that maybe it will be all the same.
